From Pain to Passion to Purpose

Pain

In 2002 I started professionally personal training and successfully helping people find their physical wellness. Before I began this journey, I had been suffering back pain since the young age of 12 and shortly into my personal training career, it got much worse. Spending 10 hours a day on the gym floor moving and maneuvering weights and equipment and being up and down off of the ground, started to really affect my body negatively. At the time, I was an active Martial Artist so acupuncture had been in my orbit and I decided that I’d give it a try for my back pain. It worked to relieve my pain immediately! It also greatly improved symptom’s I was having for a few years from thyroid disease (fatigue, weight gain, cold limbs) and problems I’d always had with my cycle (irregularity, immense cramps, pms) even though, I was having my back pain attended too! My world was changed!

Passion

I continued to personal train because acupuncture was managing my back pain. After a few years though, the fulfillment I gained from personal training started to wain. I wasn’t seeing my clients achieve the whole health they were seeking just from exercise. I had also only been “managing” my back pain and because the offending activity in the gym with clients hadn’t changed. It just struck me one day after a personal acupuncture session, that acupuncture was to be my path going forward. It became my passion! Moving my life in that direction allowed me to further care for people’s total wellness as well as continue to care for my own. So I transitioned my life to practicing the beautiful healing art, that is acupuncture and Oriental medicine!

Purpose

After graduating from the AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine in 2010, I fully transitioned my profession as a personal trainer to opening my own practice, Whole Health Acupuncture. I am passionate about and have found purpose in this medicine. I believe deeply in what it can do to heal and transform lives!

I am licensed in Florida (I was in Texas for many wonderful years) and I am currently practicing in Windermere, FL. I’m an NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) Diplomate in Oriental Medicine, a member of, on the Membership Committee of, and President of our Local Chapter for the Florida State Association or FSOMA (Florida State Oriental Medical Association), a faculty member at FCIM (Florida College of Integrative Medicine) and a Certified Reiki Master. I specialize in treating men’s health conditions and I also educate on the subject of male sexual health. I’ve spoken at AOMA, SUNA (Society of Urologic Nurses and Associates) and for FSOMA.

I’m passionate about what I do and enjoy developing treatments for the all varying conditions that come through my door. I’m committed to seeing you through your whole wellness journey! I’m here to help you take simple yet impactful steps towards the best version of you! That is my purpose!
